Recharging My Batteries

Just returned from a cruise. Happily, I missed much of the winter weather the US enjoyed last week. I was on tropical islands enjoying the sun.

I met two writers on my trip. One is young and aspiring. He’s taking college courses on creative writing. The other is also new to writing, but he is driven by his ‘purpose’ in writing. His father in law was kidnapped in Mexico, and he wrote a book called Manual de Securidad (Manual of Security) that is selling very well in Mexico and South America. He has 100 speaking engagements a month. He has also spoken at meetings, courses, seminars, and workshops.  His book may be translated into English in the future.

While the circumstance that led him to write the book is unfortunate and sad. His success if truly remarkable. His name is David Lee. You can Google his book at manualdeseguridad.com.mx/manual_de_securidad/index/.asp

As usual, when I travel I don’t write, I kick back, think, and wait for inspiration. I call it ‘Charging My Batteries.’  I did get some ideas for new stories. As I develop them into full fledged stories, I’ll share them.
